Capt. James Horton's co., commanded by Capt. Stephen Osborn from May 1, 1778, to May 31, 1779, Col. Baldwin's regiment of artificers; copy of a company return dated July 23, 1780; engaged Aug. 6, 1777; term, 3 years; company reported as belonging to Connecticut.

Died 18 Sep 1776 Shoreham, Addison Co., VT

The following epitaph is from the cemetery in Gilead Parish, Hebron, CT:

"In memory of Mrs. Hannah, relict of Capt. Abijah Rowlee who died Oct. 18 1812, aged 83 years. Also of Capt. Abijah Rowlee who left his native land for the defense of his country, died at Shoram, State of Vermont, Sept. 18, 1776, aged 46 years.

No known children

So Abijah died prior to any census on 18 Sept 1776
